Project Manager - Transmission Line and Substation

Job Summary
Lead the complete PMC assignment for transmission line, HVAC substation, and HVDC terminal station packages, ensuring safe delivery within approved scope, schedule, budget, and contractual framework. Act as principal point of contact between Consultant, Client, EPC contractors, and OEMs while establishing the Project Execution Plan, organization structure, and communication protocols. Mobilize PMC resources across project sections and monitor contractor baseline schedules, procurement plans, and commissioning programs. Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces including civil, electrical, mechanical, SCADA, and HSE; review critical technical submissions and constructability issues. Lead periodic progress, technical, contractual, risk, and HSE review meetings; analyze contractor claims, variations, and change requests. Ensure implementation of quality plans, inspection test plans, and HSE management systems. Manage project risks, resolve ROW and stakeholder constraints, and oversee project close-out, energization readiness, and handover reviews. Provide timely advice to the Client on technical, schedule, quality, HSE, and commercial matters.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in EHV transmission line and substation projects
- Demonstrated experience in leading at least one major 400 kV/765 kV transmission or substation project
- Working knowledge of project controls, contracts, quality management, HSE, procurement, construction and commissioning
- Proficiency in project reporting, stakeholder management and multidisciplinary coordination
- The position will be site-based at Khavda or Surat
- may require travel between project locations, contractor offices, manufacturing facilities and client offices
- all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in HVDC, GIS, large power transformers, reactors, control and protection systems will be preferred
