Job Summary
Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers to oversee traffic engineering studies, designs, and public presentations while managing budgets and schedules. Perform quality control reviews and develop or review traffic engineering studies involving data collection, microsimulation model development and calibration (SimTraffic, VISSIM, Synchro, HCS, TransModeler, or SIDRA), traffic forecasting, and analysis of alternatives. Work with state or municipal clients on transportation infrastructure projects, including road design and management, while fostering business development relationships and assisting with proposal preparation. Serve as the Traffic Discipline Lead on pursuits and opportunities, representing the firm at industry events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer license required with the ability to apply for comity in other states
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification required
- 10+ years of progressive traffic engineering analysis, design, and project management experience
- Project experience with State DOT's
- Proficient with Synchro and SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA and VISSIM
- Working knowledge of Microstation, AutoCAD, ESRI ArcGIS, or Adobe Illustrator
- Ability to be a self-starter and work in a dynamic environment
- Active Transportation, Multi-modal and transit-oriented design experience
- Public presentation experience required
- Experience obtaining Federal, State, and local regulatory approvals and permits
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Excellent track record of financial success, delivering projects on time and on budget
- Ability to effectively participate as part of a project team, develop and maintain client relations, and meet project demands and schedules
Desired Qualifications
- Innovative intersections, and/or ITS experience a plus
- Strong business development skills and experience are a plus
