Job Summary
Lead planning, design, and production of roadway and highway projects for municipal, state, or private clients. Develop detailed design plans covering alignments, cross-sections, grading, drainage, and pavement. Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and quality control while coordinating with traffic, structural, and utility engineers. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards. Prepare construction documents, quantities, and cost estimates. Serve as the primary client contact and mentor junior engineers. Contribute to proposal writing and business development. Requires a Florida P.E. license and 8+ years of roadway design experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 8+ years of relevant experience in roadway and highway design
- at least 3 years in a project leadership or management capacity
- Proficiency with roadway design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer (ORD), or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong understanding of FDOT standards, design manuals, and permitting processes
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary design efforts and managing complex projects
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, constructible, and cost-effective design solutions
