Job Summary
Lead the end-to-end transition of a complex technology programme from implementation into live operational service, developing the Transition Management Plan and coordinating activities across engineering, software, infrastructure, and customer operations. Ensure operational readiness by validating people, processes, documentation, and governance before service acceptance, while managing risks, assumptions, and dependencies to mitigate disruption. Act as the primary contact for internal stakeholders, customers, and third-party suppliers, overseeing knowledge transfer, service acceptance, and change control. Monitor progress through regular reporting on milestones, risks, budget, and resource requirements, supporting lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Information Technology, Project Management or another relevant technical discipline.
- Significant experience managing complex transition, mobilisation or service handover projects.
- Proven experience delivering projects from implementation through to operational acceptance and BAU support.
- Strong understanding of Service Transition principles within large-scale operational environments.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across engineering, software, infrastructure, operations and support functions.
- Excellent project planning and scheduling skills using recognised project management methodologies.
- Experience managing project risks, budgets, resources and stakeholder communications.
- Strong understanding of governance, change management, quality assurance and operational readiness.
- Experience working within contractual environments involving customer acceptance milestones.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Project Management qualification (PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, APM PMQ or equivalent).
- ITIL Foundation or ITIL Managing Professional certification.
- Experience transitioning complex operational technology, transport technology, smart infrastructure, telecommunications or mission-critical systems into live service.
- Experience managing third-party suppliers and subcontractors during mobilisation or transition phases.
- Knowledge of operational support models including Service Desk, Field Service, Asset Management and Maintenance operations.
- Experience with RAID management, governance reporting and programme controls.
