Job Summary
Manage allocated projects and bids within the Underwater Systems business portfolio, ensuring delivery aligns with business objectives and Thales governance frameworks. Liaise with functional teams, stakeholders, and suppliers to coordinate inputs, negotiate subcontractor terms, and oversee project baselines including schedules, budgets, risks, and opportunities. Conduct gate reviews, develop winning strategies, and prepare comprehensive reporting for internal and customer audiences. Guide less experienced managers while developing KPIs to alert the business to emerging variances and mitigation plans. Requires IPMA certification, three years of bid and project management experience, and a Defence security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Project Management and Delivery experience (development of new products/solutions)
- Degree qualified in business, engineering, project management or other suitable discipline
- IPMA Certification or ability to secure certification (IPMA C)
- Proven and effective leadership skills with a high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams
- At least three years' Bid and Project Management experience with multi-partners / major co-contractors
- Experience working with complex Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- The confidence and maturity of judgement to represent the company at senior levels with customer organisations both nationally and internationally
- Exceptional written communication skills including authoring content and editing
- Strong internal stakeholder management in a matrix organisation
- Ability to resolve conflict and negotiate sound commercial outcomes
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques
- Experience with Defence ASDEFCON procurement
- A Defence security clearance
