Job Summary
Project Manager for a General Contractor in Commercial Construction focusing on light industrial buildings, retail, and tenant improvements. Responsible for participating in new project sales meetings, creating and monitoring construction schedules and costs, maintaining project files, managing change notices and orders with owners/consultants and subcontractors, coordinating shop drawings and meetings, supporting the estimator, processing progress draws and forecasts, and ensuring project documentation is up-to-date with the Site Superintendent. Requires 4+ years of PM experience, a construction/engineering diploma, strong contract knowledge, leadership and communication skills, and the ability to travel monthly. Must have a valid driver’s license and right to work in Canada.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years project management experience on diverse projects
- University or college diploma in construction/engineering program
- Integrated Project Delivery Contract experience is an asset
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Project, scheduling and project management software
- Experience with various contracts and delivery methods
- Strong knowledge in contract review and negotiation for construction projects
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentations) and ability to translate technical information
- Leadership and teambuilding capabilities
- Excellent relationship-building and problem-solving skills
- Valid provincial driver's license
- Ability to travel about once a month to sites under construction
- Legal right to work in Canada
