Job Summary
Lead project management for commercial construction and design/build projects (focus on light industrial buildings, retail, and tenant improvements). Responsibilities include participating in new project sales meetings, preparing and monitoring schedules and costs, maintaining project files, managing owner/consultant change notices and change orders, requesting pricing from subcontractors and processing change orders, reviewing shop drawings, organizing coordination and owner/consultant meetings with minutes distribution, assisting the estimator with estimates, reviewing subcontractor monthly progress draws, preparing monthly progress claims and forecasts, ensuring the Site Superintendent has up-to-date documents, coordinating with the superintendent for overall project coordination, and traveling to sites about once a month. Requires 4+ years PM experience, a construction/engineering diploma, contract and delivery knowledge, strong technical/business/legal acumen, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years previous Project Management experience
- University or college diploma in a relevant construction/engineering program
- Integrated Project Delivery Contract experience an asset
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Project, Scheduling and Project Management software
- Experience in all forms of contracts and delivery
- Strong technical, business, financial and legal acumen
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentations)
- Experience working with different project delivery methods
- Exemplary leadership skills, including strong teambuilding capabilities
- Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license
- Ability to travel on average once a month to visit sites under construction
