Project Manager - Surveying

Job Summary

Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while monitoring time charges and adjusting contracts for scope changes. Review deliverables for quality control before external release, coordinate submittals with municipalities, and make final decisions on survey and staking technical matters. Provide status updates to stakeholders, maintain close client contact to ensure satisfaction, and foster long-term relationships through information exchange and cross-selling. Assess potential hazards, maintain a safe work environment for crew, and communicate respectfully with clients and neighbors. Requires a professional land surveyor license (or equivalent experience), 8+ years in the role, and strong AutoCAD and Carlson software skills. Field work involves lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, and walking through project sites.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • License as a professional land surveyor (in the case of construction staking only, licensure may not be required if significant expertise and 5+ years of experience in the role of Assistant Project Manager have been achieved)
  • 8+ years of experience required with at least two years in the role of Assistant Project Manager
  • Ability to recognize listener's degree of sophistication and experience in the subject matter and communicate on an appropriate level including field and office staff, other project professionals, clients, and agency staff
  • Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 50 or higher pounds
  • Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk

Desired Qualifications

  • AAS or BS degree preferred
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Carlson software
  • Experience with Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Knowledge of web-based programs such as municipal GIS and county register of deeds sites
