Job Summary
Design, plan, and deliver project works from feasibility through completion for substations, underground cables, overhead lines, and civils across voltages up to 400kV. Produce firm cost proposals, quotations, and validated estimates while specifying, ordering, and managing equipment, plant, and supplier interfaces. Lead project teams, administer contracts, and manage programmes to meet time, cost, and quality targets aligned with Grid standards and CDM obligations. Conduct site investigations, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, while maintaining client operational authorisations and updating asset records. Manage multiple concurrent projects valued over £5m, providing regular progress and cost forecasts to clients. This hybrid role involves home working and regular site visits across the North.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record in the electricity distribution and/or transmission industry
- Delivering Project Manager activities with typically 5+ years' experience
- Strong technical knowledge across all distribution asset classes (cables, overhead lines, substations and civils)
- Competence to take responsibility for works from LV up to and including 66kV
- Demonstrable experience managing both major projects and high-volume workstreams
- Responsibility for projects typically valued in excess of £5m
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Experience working on CDM notifiable projects
- NEBOSH or equivalent qualification in safety management
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- HNC or equivalent qualifications
