Job Summary
Project Manager for Penn-co Construction in Steinbach oversees and directs commercial construction projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery within budget and in accordance with specifications. Responsibilities include leading project meetings with owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors; establishing and monitoring project schedules and budgets; managing change orders and claims; tracking progress billings; reviewing productivity and cost forecasts; maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders; coordinating a collaborative team of project coordinators and superintendents; supervising, mentoring, and motivating the project team; and handling close-out activities. Requires 5+ years of commercial construction experience (>$5M projects), a related degree or demonstrated experience, strong leadership and communication skills, ability to read blueprints and contract documents, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a flexible schedule including occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Commercial construction experience preferred on building projects of $5 million or greater
- A diploma or degree in Project/Construction Management, a related field of study or past work experience operating at a similar level or role
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and strong interpersonal skills is required.
- Read, interpret, and understand building blueprints, specifications, contract documents, etc.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities and prioritize the workload appropriately.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in using Microsoft Office programs, as well as the ability and willingness to learn new software.
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and passionate about construction.
- Ability to problem solve with a can-do attitude and a mindset of continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of construction methods, codes, and best practices in the construction environment
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Travel is occasionally required.
