Project Manager, Stations - Contract

Job Summary

Manage multiple complex transit infrastructure projects from planning stages to commissioning and closeout, coordinating tenders, contracts, and change orders while overseeing engineering, construction, and contingency costs. Conduct site walks to verify progress and document conditions, facilitating subject matter expert reviews of consultant studies and contract documents for compliance with Metrolinx policies. Liaise with internal Capital Projects Group departments, municipal partners, third parties, and Railways to ensure successful delivery within budget, schedule, and quality constraints. Requires a degree in Engineering or related discipline, public sector project management experience, and PMP or P.Eng designation. Full site presence including evenings, weekends, and holidays is required, with access to a company vehicle.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business, Architecture or a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, preferably within the public sector
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects involving planning, design, construction, and commissioning of large scale and complex industrial, commercial, or institutional works
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience to manage complex projects under pressure to meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements
  • Demonstrated experience and application of supervisory principles and practices to supervise staff
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, particularly Design and Build/Joint Venture, Construction Manager at Risk
  • Knowledge of contract law, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, and construction standards and procedures applicable to operating Railway environment
  • Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation and strong communication skills to liaise with all levels within the organization and on construction sites
  • Project specific requirement for visits to construction sites (CPG) during working hours and visits during evenings, weekends and/or holidays, as required
  • A Driver's Abstract (within the last 3 Years)

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in transit facilities, heavy Railway infrastructure, bridges, structures, and related works
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification; Certified Engineering Technician (CET); Licensed Architect (OAA) designations or P.Eng. designation (or partial completion)
