Project Manager-Ship Repairs & Conversions (Gul)

Job Summary
Manage and direct ship repair, construction, and conversion projects while conducting daily VSCC meetings. Lead hot-works, painting, and incompatible jobs onboard to ensure safety, monitor critical paths, and control project man-hours to achieve intended GP margins. Resolve ground-level conflicts by coordinating sequential jobs and liaise with classification societies, ship owners, and vessel crews to meet commercial and quality commitments. Capture additional works, prepare competitive pricing, and actively support company smart yard, digitalization, and AI initiatives. This role requires a valid SRM Certificate, 5–7 years of ship repair project management experience, and proficiency in MS Projects or Primavera. Located at 55 Gul Road with 5-day work weeks from 7:25am to 5:00pm.
Required Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Naval Architecture/Marine/Mechanical Engineering
- Min. 5 to 7 years experience in project management for ship repairs in similar capacity from marine / heavy industries
- Possess a valid SRM Certificate
- Experience in chairing VSCC meetings
- Experience in diverse types of vessels such as Dredgers, Offshore vessels, Containers, Tankers etc
- Able to make appropriate decisions and judgments, decisive and take proper actions
- Able to lead and manage ship repair, construction and conversion projects independently
- Willing to work late at times and during weekends
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Proficient in report writing and preparing project schedules using MS Projects, Primavera etc
- Good communication skills when interacting with clients and internal stakeholders
