Project Manager – Roadway Design (Civil & Traffic Engineering)

Job Summary
Manage all phases of roadway design projects from concept through construction documentation, coordinating multidisciplinary design teams including civil and traffic engineers. Serve as primary liaison with clients, leading meetings, public outreach, and stakeholder coordination. Oversee project budgets, schedules, and quality control while ensuring compliance with design standards and specifications. Review and approve technical reports, design plans, and traffic studies. This full-time role reports to the Manhattan or Princeton office five days per week for public sector clients in the NYC metro area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 12+ years of experience in roadway and traffic design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York State
- Experience working on projects for agencies in the New York City Metro area including but not limited to NYCDDC, PANYNJ, NYCDEP, MTA, NYSDOT, and NYCDOT
- Demonstrated experience in project delivery including the management of client relationships and project deliverables
- Ability to manage multiple technical assignments simultaneously to complete assignments to the client's satisfaction while maintaining schedule and budget
- Strong technical competence and working relationships with clients
- Self-starter with the ability to participate collaboratively and also drive outcomes to satisfy client and project requirements
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Excellent communication skills and work ethic
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Full-time position, reporting to either SIE's Manhattan or Princeton office five days per week
