Project Manager – Regulatory & Environmental Compliance

Job Summary
Manage multiple environmental compliance projects simultaneously, including permitting, audits, and regulatory reporting. Serve as primary client point of contact, maintaining strong relationships and managing expectations. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (EPA, TCEQ, RRC, NMED, NMOCD, CWA, CAA) and oversee preparation of permit applications and regulatory correspondence. Coordinate internal technical staff and subcontractors to meet deliverables while managing budgets, invoicing, and financial performance. Conduct site visits, compliance audits, and inspections as needed to identify and mitigate regulatory and schedule risks. Support business development through proposal preparation and client pursuit. Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure quality control on all deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, regulatory affairs, or environmental project management
- Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (EPA, TCEQ, RRC, NMED, NMOCD, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management and GIS software a plus
- Professional certification (e.g., PMP, CHMM, PG or PE)
- Experience with federal programs, mining compliance, or litigation support
- Prior consulting experience serving industrial, oil and gas, municipal, or government clients
