Job Summary

Lead utility construction projects from initiation through completion across Texas and Louisiana by managing multiple initiatives, developing schedules and budgets, and coordinating field operations with subcontractors and clients. Monitor performance to ensure safe, on-time delivery within budget while serving as the primary contact for stakeholders and utility companies. Conduct kickoffs, progress reviews, and closeouts; identify risks and implement mitigation strategies. Review contracts, scopes, and drawings to ensure compliance with standards and regulatory guidelines. Track costs, labor productivity, and material expenditures; prepare reports, forecasts, and billing documentation. Support procurement and coordinate deliveries. Promote safety culture and utilize digital tools for efficiency. Travel extensively, including overnight trips, and work extended hours, nights, and weekends as project demands dictate.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in utility construction, electrical distribution, underground utilities, transmission, or related infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of utility construction practices, project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration
  • Experience managing field personnel, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and utility standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
  • Knowledge of utility safety regulations, OSHA requirements, and industry best practices
  • Must be willing to travel extensively throughout Texas and Louisiana
  • Must be willing to travel on short notice when project demands require
  • Must be willing to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and overtime when necessary to support project schedules
  • Must be willing to attend project meetings, customer meetings, and field visits at multiple job locations
  • Must be willing to work in office and field environments as business needs dictate
  • Ability to frequently travel to project sites throughout the region
  • Must be able to walk active construction sites and navigate uneven terrain
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform site inspections
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions when visiting project sites
  • Must maintain visual acuity sufficient to review plans, inspect work, and identify safety concerns

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • PMP certification
