Job Summary
Own utility-scale thermal generation projects from Limited Notice-to-Proceed through Final Completion, managing turnkey EPC contracts for combined-cycle natural gas facilities and overseeing major equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning. Maintain project budget, schedule using Primavera P6, and ensure commercial operation milestones while coordinating with EPC partners, OEMs, and consultants. Develop risk mitigation strategies, negotiate contracts with legal and procurement teams, and manage contractor claims and change orders. Provide updates to leadership and investors, interface with utilities, grid operators, and permitting agencies, and directly manage Project Coordinators. Coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams for project handoffs and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across project teams and contractors.
Required Qualifications
- At least 7-10+ years of professional experience
- 5+ years of experience managing utility-scale power generation projects
- Demonstrated experience managing EPC contracts and major equipment suppliers for power generation facilities
- Strong understanding of power plant construction, commissioning, startup, and performance testing processes
- Familiarity with gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG, electrical balance-of-plant, and transmission interconnection systems
- Ability to travel approximately 25–50% of the time, as needed
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications
- Primarily including combined-cycle natural gas, simple-cycle gas turbine, thermal generation, or large industrial energy infrastructure projects
- Primarily including experience with project financing processes, lender requirements, and independent engineer coordination
- Primarily including expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
- Primarily including experience with Monday.com and Primavera P6
- Experience working with utilities, grid operators, regulatory agencies, and major EPC contractors
