Job Summary
Plan, organize, and direct all activities for heavy civil projects involving road, bridge, and underground utility construction. Create and maintain project-level safety plans, prepare resourcing and scheduling budgets, and generate weekly/monthly progress reports. Monitor project team performance, negotiate subcontracts, and manage change processes for delays or unforeseen events. Represent the company in meetings to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance while coordinating with third parties. Travel to local job sites 2-3 times per week. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or other related degree
- 7+ years of related experience
- 2+ years project management experience preferred in heavy construction (roads, bridges and underground utilities)
- Must be capable of meeting deadlines
- Self-motivated
- Detail oriented
- Above average interpersonal skills
- Excellent follow-through capability
- General knowledge of construction contract language
- Principles of dispute resolution
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Working knowledge of project management and CPM scheduling software such as Sage Timberline, HCSS Heavy Bid/Heavy Job, Viewpoint, Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6 or other similar tools
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Accurately process construction plans and documents
- Provide technical engineering advice in the context of complex civil engineering projects
- Perform duties in a timely manner
- Be highly organized
- Interface and communicate effectively with company, clients and field personnel at all levels
- Travel to LOCAL jobsites 2-3 times per week
