Job Summary
Project Manager in PetroTech Inc.’s Engineering department coordinating turnkey turbomachinery control projects. Lead project plans, scheduling, shipment coordination, and invoicing while acting as primary client contact. Manage change orders, project margins, and on-time delivery; track costs, performance metrics, and corrective actions to maintain scope, schedule, and budget. Collaborate with suppliers, fabricators, and customer teams; contribute to Quality Improvement processes. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; PMP/PMI certification is a plus, with a minimum 5 years in control system engineering and project management within energy/oil & gas or industrial automation. Strong technical skills in control system design (control panels, instrumentation, PLC/DCS/HMI, FAT, field commissioning) and excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship management capabilities. Travel approximately 20%; work arrangement supports hybrid or remote options; location flexibility between New Orleans, LA and Houston, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field; PMP or PMI certification is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in control system engineering and project management within energy, oil & gas, or industrial automation sectors
- Proven success in managing complex projects involving control system design, commissioning, and startup activities
- Deep understanding of control system design, including control panels, instrumentation, PLC/DCS/HMI programming, Factory Acceptance Testing, and field commissioning
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 20% of the time
