Job Summary
Project Manager needed to lead a HLS thermal control system prototype and development project for NASA exploration programs. Responsibilities include managing systems engineering, project engineering, test engineering and logistics activities; overseeing the project team; budgeting, forecasting, and cost estimating; developing and maintaining financial reports and schedules; developing procedures and process flows; managing project risks and opportunities; assessing program-level changes’ impact on project requirements; interfacing with NASA personnel, inter-organizational disciplines, and vendors; and working with the lead systems engineer to meet technical and performance goals. Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5-10 years of related experience, with license/certification potentially required; strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate cross-disciplinary efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 5-10 years of related experience
- Experience managing and leading engineering projects
- Understanding of complex thermal control systems development and operations
- Experience with financial reporting including budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings, material selection, environmental testing, and office software
