Job Summary
Project Manager to support defense-focused, R&D-driven projects in NRC's Digital Technologies Research unit in Ottawa. Responsibilities include coordinating multi-disciplinary, multi-partner R&D projects and trials involving sensor systems on aircraft, drones, ground vehicles, and ground stations; developing and maintaining detailed project plans, budgets, schedules, and risk management; coordinating work across NRC centers and partner organizations; managing procurement activities to meet deadlines; ensuring compliance with NRC financial, procurement, and security policies; identifying and mitigating project risks; contributing to knowledge sharing and lessons learned; and supporting governance and reporting. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, potential asset PM certifications (PMP/CAPM), experience with government procurement, ability to work in a bilingual environment, and eligibility for Secret clearance. The role is a term (temporary) position with a limited hybrid work arrangement in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; relocation assistance will be determined per NRC directives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science
- Education in PM would be asset (PMP or CAPM)
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary and multi-partner projects
- Experience with project management in R&D environment
- Experience coordinating field trials and relationships with clients/partners
- Knowledge of defense and security standards and controlled goods regulations (asset)
- Secret security clearance required
- Bilingual in English and French (CBC/CBC)
