Job Summary

Project Manager needed in Northeastern Pennsylvania to plan, direct, and coordinate public and private construction projects. Responsibilities include maintaining project progress and cost data, creating and updating monthly schedules with the superintendent, coordinating with subcontractors and purchasing, processing change orders and AWA’s, reviewing cost reports, visiting project sites weekly, ensuring safety and quality, managing submittals/shop drawings/maintenance manuals/as-built drawings, and preparing AIA billing requisitions. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field, five years of heavy civil construction experience, a valid driver’s license, strong communication skills, and proficiency with project software and Microsoft Office. The role requires collaboration with foremen, superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to meet project objectives, control costs, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, with company-paid health benefits, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and related benefits. Location is Skippack, PA; on-site work with travel as needed; standard heavy civil project expectations include long hours and occasional field visits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or relevant field from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Five years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction relevant to this region
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Proficient computer skills including internet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and specialized project software
  • Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Desired Qualifications

  • Ten years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction (preferred)
  • Certified Professional Engineer (PE) (preferred)
  • OSHA and/or other applicable safety certifications and training (preferred)
  • Experience with AIA Billing, change orders, and subcontractor coordination (preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and project software (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to fit test and utilize PPE (needed)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing project schedules and cost data
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
  • Experience in heavy civil contracting or construction materials solutions
  • Team leadership and coordination with superintendents and subcontractors
  • Experience with project cost reporting and budgeting
  • Experience with subcontractor coordination and purchasing
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety policies and site safety practices
  • Ability to prepare and manage AIA Billing requisitions
  • Experience with change orders and client requirements management
  • Site visitation and field problem-solving
  • Experience with project documentation (submittals, shop drawings, maintenance manuals, as-built drawings)
  • Experience with pre-job planning and project transitions
  • Ability to review plans and revise schedules as needed
  • Experience with cost control and gross margin improvement strategies
  • Ability to manage procurement and invoicing processes
  • Experience in liaising with clients, suppliers, and project teams
