Job Summary
Lead grounds maintenance crews at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery, including mowing, trimming hedges, clearing debris, and maintaining walking trails and signage. Mentor and train young adult interns and volunteers in landscape rehabilitation projects while providing career guidance. Ensure safety by enforcing proper PPE, inspecting machinery, and conducting regular safety briefs. Perform routine repairs on ground and signs as determined by park staff. This role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, lifting heavy objects, and operating equipment like mowers and blowers. Applicants must have at least five years of experience in grounds maintenance or a high school diploma.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in grounds maintenance
- HS/GED Degree
- Enrollee should be able to work well independently
- Enrollee should be able to work with park staff
- Enrollee should be able to work with volunteers
- Enrollee should be able to work with visitors
- Enrollee will be required to take Park Orientation
- Enrollee will be required to take Park Safety Training
- Enrollee will be required to take pertinent equipment and machinery training
