Job Summary
Lead grounds maintenance at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery by mowing, trimming hedges, clearing debris, and maintaining walking trails and signage. Mentor and train young adult interns and volunteers in landscape rehabilitation projects while providing career guidance. Ensure safety of self, interns, and volunteers by enforcing proper PPE, inspecting equipment, and conducting regular safety briefings. Perform routine repairs on ground and signs as determined by park staff. Requires independent work with park staff, volunteers, and visitors. Minimum of five years in grounds maintenance or HS/GED degree. 25 hours per week for up to 700 total hours. Outdoor work in all weather conditions with heavy lifting and machinery operation.
Required Qualifications

- HS/GED Degree
- Enrollee should be able to work well independently
- Enrollee should be able to work with park staff
- Enrollee should be able to work with volunteers
- Enrollee should be able to work with visitors
- Enrollee will be required to take Park Orientation
- Enrollee will be required to take Park Safety Training
- Enrollee will be required to take pertinent equipment and machinery training
- Enrollee should be able to lift heavy objects
- Enrollee should be able to stoop
- Enrollee should be able to bend
- Enrollee should be able to crouch
- Enrollee should be able to operate machinery such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers
- Enrollee should be able to tolerate heat
- Enrollee should be able to tolerate humidity
- Enrollee should be able to tolerate cold
- Enrollee should be able to tolerate inclement weather
