Job Summary
Coordinate and manage a multidisciplinary team of software developers and engineers specializing in electrical and mechanical systems for complex naval navigation projects. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS) and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget constraints, and industry standards. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and perform regular performance evaluations to enhance team technical capabilities. Act as the primary point of contact for client communication, managing expectations and providing regular project updates while maintaining strict compliance with security protocols and clearance requirements. Requires an active Secret Security Clearance, minimum 7 years of maritime industry experience, and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing complex projects in the maritime industry, with a focus on naval navigation systems, ECDIS, or GNSS
- Proven experience in leading and coordinating interdisciplinary teams, including software developers, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices, with a demonstrated track record of successful project deliveries within stipulated timelines and budgets
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with internal teams and clients, ensuring a clear understanding of project requirements and expectations
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and industry guidelines related to naval navigation systems and security protocols
- Proficiency in project management tools and software for efficient project planning, tracking, and reporting
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations
