Job Summary
Mining Project Manager sought to lead planning, coordination, and execution of mining-related construction and operational projects within active mine environments. Responsible for developing and managing project schedules, budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, coordinating equipment, manpower, subcontractors, and procurement, and maintaining strong relationships with mine representatives, consultants, and stakeholders. Will oversee project progress, safety planning, incident investigations, hazard assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives; lead regular project meetings and provide progress updates to clients and leadership; mentor and develop team members and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and future project growth; require travel to mine sites and adapt to fast-paced, high-demand environments while upholding MacKay’s safety values.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in mining, heavy civil, or industrial construction
- Experience managing projects within active mine sites or large industrial operations
- Strong knowledge of earthworks, roadbuilding, utilities, mine support services, or heavy civil construction
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, forecasting, and cost controls
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing operational demands
- Strong understanding of mine site safety requirements and procedures
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, equipment, and field operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
- A valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract
- The ability to travel regularly to mine sites and work in varying field conditions
