Project Manager - MEP

Job Summary

Manage MEP design projects for new buildings, renovations, and additions by overseeing project programs to ensure quality, on-time delivery, and adherence to budget expectations. Coordinate project schedules with clients and stakeholders while directing the internal design team to meet specific requirements and consistent client standards. Provide review and feedback on designs, facilitate communication across cross-functional teams, and anticipate impediments impacting performance or timing. Assist with contract negotiations, proposal creation, and obtaining signed contracts in coordination with business development, while maintaining accurate forecasting and reviewing draft invoices. Communicate proactively with owners, contractors, and consultants to maintain a positive engineering experience and recognize opportunities for additional business with existing clients.

  • Ability to expeditiously read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and accomplish company objectives by maintaining and fostering a keen sense of professionalism, personal responsibility, and urgency
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all departments and disciplines
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, clients, owners, other consultants, and subcontractors
  • Demonstrate competence in computer applications including MS Office, project management software, and accounting software
  • Demonstrate ability to be self-motivated, flexible with task interruptions, and capable of proactively solving problems
  • Demonstrate excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in the AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) or related industry
  • 7 years of relevant MEP experience in commercial, retail, restaurant, and hospitality
  • at least 3 years of project management experience
  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD & REVIT proficiency
  • Proficiency in project management standards and execution
  • Knowledge and application of building design and construction principles
  • Travel up to 15% as needed
  • Location: Kansas City, Missouri with the opportunity to work hybrid up to 2 days at home and 3 in the office
