Job Summary
Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects with a focus on HVAC design for a variety of building types, developing and overseeing HVAC system design, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, ductwork and piping, controls, and energy-efficient solutions. Prepare design drawings, specifications, and reports, collaborate with electrical/plumbing/structural disciplines, perform regular site visits, mentor junior engineers, and oversee cost estimates, bids, and proposals. Maintain client relationships, apply industry trends, and foster sustainable, integrated building solutions across projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering with focus on HVAC design and systems
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in NJ
- Proven expertise in HVAC design, codes, energy efficiency, and sustainability
- Advanced proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, EnergyPlus, AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Project); BIM a plus
- Strong project management skills; ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources; PMP a plus
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Leadership experience and mentoring capabilities
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy-efficient HVAC system design
