Job Summary
Manage client relationships and lead design teams from concept through construction administration. Draft proposals, attend design meetings, and issue minutes while overseeing the approval and sealing of engineering documents. Coordinate with discipline managers to schedule personnel, organize project folders, and ensure quality control across all disciplines. Provide on-the-spot advice to owners, handle project billing, and supervise document submissions to reviewing authorities. Conduct site visits, pre-bid conferences, and bid openings to maintain positive client standing. Requires a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with 10+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity (example through Comity) within the State in which the position is posted within six (6) months
- 10+ years of experience
- Knowledgeable of construction process
- Familiar with AIA contracts
- Self-motivated
- Highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Well organized
- Good understanding of plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems
- General knowledge of applicable codes
- General knowledge of national standards
- General knowledge of client design standards
- General knowledge of system operation
- General knowledge of space requirements
- General knowledge of cost
