Job Summary
Manage day-to-day activities of Assistant and Level I/II Project Managers, reviewing assignments to ensure design and construction quality and compliance. Make timely decisions to expedite project completion, supervise field personnel, and conduct technical inspections. Develop master schedules and award-based budgets, identify contract change conditions, evaluate contractor proposals, and negotiate settlements. Coordinate activities among architects, engineers, contractors, and government agencies while resolving field reports. Assist in training project teams and monitor staff performance for recruitment and discipline recommendations. Lead complex K-12 construction and rehabilitation projects from conception through completion.
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Eight (8) years of full-time experience as a technical specialist in one or more construction and design related fields
- Four years of experience managing all phases of K-12 construction work
- A driver's license valid in New York State
Desired Qualifications
- New York State Professional Engineers
- Registered Architects
- Knowledge or experience in government safety or construction standards
- Experience managing complex personnel and technological issues
- Experience working effectively on a wide range of subjects, including policy formulation, budgetary control, scheduling
- Experience making highly technical operations decisions
- Experience in dispute resolution
