Job Summary
Lead the full lifecycle of complex government design and construction projects for government facilities, from planning through closeout. Responsibilities include managing budgets, schedules, contractor performance, and customer expectations; developing scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules; overseeing on-site operations as an inspector or on-site manager; reviewing design documents, submittals, and cost estimates; coordinating with A/E firms, contractors, and government stakeholders; overseeing commissioning, punch lists, and project turnover; evaluating building systems for quality and code compliance; leading meetings and maintaining client relationships; and traveling to project sites as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field; and/or ten years of experience managing design and construction projects.
- Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of building design, construction methods, and commercial building systems; proficiency in project management principles, scheduling, cost estimating, reading construction documents, and writing scopes of work and specifications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with customers, contracting staff, contractors, financial managers, and other stakeholders.
- Advanced computer skills and familiarity with project management tools and estimating software.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
