Project Manager II - Solar Vegetation Management

Job Summary

Lead complex ecological restoration projects from opportunity development through construction close-out, independently managing scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring regulatory compliance. Develop project schedules, build and manage budgets, lead cross-functional team meetings, and coordinate subcontractors during field execution phases. Resolve project challenges, mitigate risks, and communicate updates with clients and regulators using RES's Best Management Practices. Travel 25–50% of the time between South Illinois, Northern Missouri, and Indiana to inspect active sites and conduct team check-ins. Prepare financial reports and review technical documents while driving results with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in applied sciences, environmental engineering, construction management, or a related field—or equivalent experience
  • At least 6 years of experience in engineering, construction, or environmental project work
  • 3+ years of direct project management experience, including ownership of scope, schedule, and budget
  • Proficiency with project management tools, such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent
  • Experience managing subcontractors, consultants, and vendors
  • Ability to lead complex projects independently, with limited supervision
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills
  • Previous experience in solar vegetation management and/ or civil infrastructure or civil construction
  • You can expect to travel up to 25–50% of the time, particularly during project kickoffs, field execution phases, and regulatory milestones
  • The geography covered lies between South Illinois, Northern Missouri and Indiana

Desired Qualifications

  • PMP certification, PE/PG license, or relevant advanced degree
  • Experience managing ecological restoration, mitigation banking, or conservation projects
  • Knowledge of environmental permitting and compliance
