Job Summary
Project Manager II at Mortenson to lead project financials, scheduling, risk, safety, and quality on complex construction projects. Responsibilities include managing subcontracts and suppliers, developing and tracking financial projections, determining cost codes, approving invoices, producing monthly owner billings, managing contract management and buyouts, overseeing budgets and trade partner selections, leading on-site teams including Assistant PMs and Project Engineers, approving timecards, serving as the main point of contact with owners and on-site representatives, reviewing owner agreements, executing change orders, maintaining schedules and budgets through project completion, and ensuring high-level quality, risk, safety, and compliance while building relationships across organizational levels. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural engineering or construction management (or equivalent), willingness to travel up to 100%, and strong MS Office/project/web application skills. Visa sponsorship is not offered. Salaries vary by office location with ranges provided; compensation based on experience and location.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- Current driver’s license
- Ability to travel up to 100%
- Proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for complex projects
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Intermediate Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
- Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback

- Six years of construction management or related experience for PM1
- Seven years of construction management or related experience with large projects ($20M+) for PM2
