Job Summary
Develop comprehensive project plans defining scope, objectives, schedules, resources, and cost estimates for utility, construction, and nuclear projects. Execute projects using Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, or hybrid methodologies while coordinating execution across engineering, construction, operations, and vendor teams. Lead cross-functional groups including engineers, technicians, and contractors to assign responsibilities and achieve milestones, ensuring compliance with OSHA, NRC, and safety standards. Manage budgets, forecasts, and change orders to maintain financial accountability, and monitor progress against detailed schedules to ensure on-time delivery. Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular status updates and resolving concerns. This 7-8 year contract at Southern Nuclear in Georgia requires a Bachelor's degree and 5–10 years of experience in regulated, safety-critical environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related technical field
- 5–10 years of project management experience in utilities, construction, nuclear, or heavy industrial environments
- Strong proficiency with project management tools and scheduling software
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, hybrid)
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in regulated, safety-critical environments
Desired Qualifications
- PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent project management certification
- Experience managing: Power generation, transmission, or distribution projects
- Experience managing: Construction or capital infrastructure projects
- Experience managing: Nuclear facility projects, outages, or maintenance activities
- Experience working with contractors, vendors, and field personnel
- Familiarity with utility or nuclear documentation, work management, or outage planning systems
