Job Summary
Review and approve detailed project plans, manage subcontracting processes, and oversee construction activities in alignment with scope, codes, and regulations. Develop acceptance criteria for project phases, identify risks, and prepare response plans while ensuring project alignment with strategic goals. Provide engineering guidance, coordinate with internal and client stakeholders, and manage communications between parties. Supervise field staff and tradesmen, conduct quality control functions, and prepare status reports with metrics. Mentor junior staff and lead technical execution for small, medium, or large projects depending on level. Prepare proposals and contract deliverables including work plans and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physical/Environmental Sciences, Construction Management or related
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record, able to drive a company vehicle
- Experience with Federal and State contracting
- Ability to pass background checks by various Federal Agencies (e.g., DOD, DHS, FAA, etc.) to obtain security access badges
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Adept at explaining technical aspects of fieldwork to internal and external clients verbally and in writing
- Zero (0) to Three (3) years of project management experience; specialized training and/or an advanced degree such as MS may be substituted for work experience
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of project management experience, specialized training and/or an advanced degree such as MS may be substituted for work experience
- Five (5) years or more of project management experience, specialized training and/or an advanced degree such as MS may be substituted for work experience
- Moderate travel required to shareholder communities, subsidiary offices, and other project locations as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software
- GIS Software
- Professional Registration such as PE, PG, or PMP
- Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native Cultures
