Job Summary
Project Manager role focused on leading supermarket construction and remodel projects with integrated refrigeration, HVAC, and control systems. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, and executing projects with emphasis on refrigeration systems (CO2, glycol, natural refrigerants), HVAC and building controls; CapEx planning and budget control; vendor/subcontractor coordination; risk management; compliance with codes and safety standards; and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with high quality and sustainability considerations. Requires 5+ years PM experience in construction/engineering, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and proficiency with project management software; PMP preferred. Travel 75% to project sites across the Greater Philadelphia area and central PA; field-based with regular site visits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in project management within construction or engineering sectors
- Significant experience in supermarket refrigeration, HVAC, and control systems
- Experience with installation of supermarket RHVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, and control systems (e.g. Danfoss, Emerson) including CO2, glycol and transcritical
- Strong understanding of natural refrigerants and energy-efficient technologies in supermarket sector
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, CMiC) and cost-tracking tools
- PMP or relevant project management certification is preferred
- Leadership: ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Field-based with regular site visits; 75% travel across Greater Philadelphia area and central PA
- Work environment: primarily field-based with site visits to supermarkets under construction
- Quality Assurance: oversee QA processes for systems to meet design specs and industry standards
- Regulatory: ensure compliance with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards
