Job Summary

Lead Project Manager with tracking labor costs, expenses, and project timelines across all phases of new construction, vessel renovation, and development. Create and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project while evaluating progress, quality, work hours, and budgets for designers and contractors. Perform data and budget analysis, issue contracts and purchase orders, and negotiate with vendors and suppliers. Organize on-site and virtual meetings, review field inspection reports, and prepare substantial completion certificates. Control all project data throughout the lifecycle, including change orders and closeout documentation. Travel to project sites within the US and internationally as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous shipyard experience
  • Experience creating detailed construction schedules with project scheduling software
  • Understanding of aluminum, steel, wood, & fiberglass vessel design and construction
  • Familiarity with classification society rules (ABS, USCG, etc.)
  • A familiarity with current passenger vessel regulations (i.e. USCG T & K boat regulations)
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working in a team and operational environment to manage systems
  • Experience with Word, Excel and organizational documentation file management systems
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to board vessels, enter confined spaces with limited visibility and have the ability to climb up and down stairs and/or ladders of varying heights to complete inspections
  • Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident/incident testing

Desired Qualifications

  • An advanced degree is preferred in a technical discipline associated with vessel construction or ship repair such as marine engineering
  • PMP certification or equivalent
