Job Summary
Project Manager oversees geotechnical engineering projects from initiation through completion, coordinating drilling operations, field and laboratory testing, budgeting, and client communication while ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and adherence to quality standards. Serves as primary liaison among clients, contractors, field technicians, drilling crews, field engineers, laboratory personnel, and internal engineering teams, ensuring alignment with contract requirements, specifications, and profitability. Responsibilities include developing project scopes, budgets, schedules, staffing plans, coordinating field testing and analyses, reviewing documentation, and guiding multidisciplinary teams through design aspects such as shallow/deep foundations, tunnels, earth structures, ground improvement, dewatering, PDA/CAPWAP, and instrument data evaluation; maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and regulatory compliance; managing invoicing, revenue targets, and proposal support. Proficiency in geotechnical engineering principles, QA/QC processes, and ability to lead multiple projects in fast-paced environments are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
- Minimum of 5+ years of geotechnical engineering and Project Management
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; EIT required
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Masters degree preferred
- 5+ years of geotechnical engineering and project management experience
- Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP/project management system experience
- Strong financial management and forecasting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
