Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day delivery of Service Upgrade projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Lead and manage a team of Field Managers, Supervisors, Planners, Engineers, and Site Operatives while acting as the main operational point of contact with Northern Powergrid. Manage multiple concurrent projects from planning through energisation and handover, allocating labour, plant, and materials to meet demands. Ensure compliance with HSQE policies and legal requirements, monitor KPIs, and maintain accurate project documentation including RAMS and as-built records. Liaise with local authorities, subcontractors, and stakeholders to facilitate delivery. This role requires experience in cable installation or power distribution, a NEBOSH qualification, and full UK driving licence. Based in Washington covering the North East Region, this permanent full-time position offers a salary up to £52,500 plus car allowance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in an operational or project management role within cable installation, utilities or power distribution
- Strong knowledge of LV cable networks
- Understanding of new connections processes within a regulated utility environment
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent client and stakeholder management abilities
- Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience
- NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working on Northern Powergrid contracts
- Streetworks knowledge and understanding of NRSWA requirements
- Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM)
