Job Summary

Oversee small-scale facilities planning projects college-wide, including new facilities, remodels, and minor renovations. Manage design professionals, contractors, consultants, and vendors while maintaining design and construction standards. Research and implement specifications to meet educational facilities standards, and coordinate with staff and stakeholders on project needs. Produce conceptual space plans in AutoCAD based on program requirements, user needs, and site constraints. Solicit proposals for design and construction services, and provide oversight and planning reviews for design and bid documents. Prepare contracts, purchase orders, and reports related to construction, remodeling, renovation, and maintenance. Review building, life safety code, and accessibility requirements to ensure compliance with all safety standards. Monitor projects to ensure maximum effectiveness and compliance, and identify and resolve issues prior to and during construction.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two years of related experience, including experience in design & construction as a project design or construction manager
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
  • Knowledge of Contract process, documents, and preparation
  • Knowledge of Building codes and Accessibility requirements
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Skilled in Interpreting architecture and engineering construction documents
  • Skilled in Project management analysis and design
  • Skilled in Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
  • Ability to Interpret blueprints and related symbols
  • Ability to Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
  • Ability to Manage large-scale projects requiring the management of multiple responsibilities
  • Regular physical attendance required
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Background Check/Drug Screen
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a drug test and completing a criminal background investigation

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing small commercial or institutional construction projects
  • Knowledge of State Requirements of Educational Facilities (SREF)
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam construction software
  • Knowledge of REVIT or BIM software
  • Knowledge of Procore Construction Management Software
  • Knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets or similar application
  • Architectural, Engineering, or Interior Design license
