Job Summary
Project Manager, Facilities (18-month contract) leads capital-project-based responsibilities in Ontario Northland’s facilities portfolio. Manages capital projects from initiation to completion, develops scope of work packages for equipment, systems, and building installations, creates RFQ/RFP documents, reviews contract plans for building-code compliance, coordinates procurement, maintains stakeholder communications, oversees trades and contractors, tracks schedules and budgets, manages project documentation and cash flows, and supports the Enterprise Asset Management program. Requires a university degree in engineering or architecture, 3–5 years in building systems, 2+ years in project management, and strong contract, budgeting, and coordination capabilities; PMP or P.Eng is a strong asset; willingness to travel up to 50% and valid driver’s license. The role sits in Englehart, Ontario as part of a 18-month contract with ONTC, offering competitive salary and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or Architecture
- 3–5 years of experience working with building systems in an industrial setting, with practical, hands-on knowledge
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Project Management
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or Professional Engineer (P.Eng) is a strong asset
- Demonstrated experience coordinating construction contracts, including planning, scheduling, legal documentation, and project execution
- Proven ability to prepare cost estimates, budgets, and budgetary requests
- Proficiency in preparing detailed scope of work documents and RFQs/RFPs
- Ability to develop comprehensive project plans, lead cross-functional teams, and manage consultants and contractors to meet project milestones
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel)
- Familiarity with Autodesk Build, Smartsheet, Questica, and RSMEANS Data Estimating software
- Solid understanding of building/construction codes and regulations (Federal and Provincial) including CCDC contracts
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure with minimal supervision
- Valid G-class driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 50%
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety practices
