Project Manager - Facilities and Construction

Job Summary

Manage and oversee assigned construction, renovation, repair, and capital improvement projects from planning through completion, coordinating activities with architects, engineers, contractors, and district staff. Monitor project schedules, contracts, and progress while conducting regular site visits to evaluate quality, safety, and compliance. Work closely with Finance to monitor budgets, approve change orders, and report payment recommendations. Coordinate inspections, punch lists, and closeout documentation to ensure projects finish safely, on schedule, and within grant-funded budget limits. Maintain accurate documentation and provide regular updates to administration. Frequent travel and site visits required; end date June 30, 2030.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in construction management, facilities management, commercial construction, or a related field
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license
  • Knowledge of commercial construction practices, project management principles, and facility maintenance
  • Knowledge of North Carolina public procurement requirements and public school construction processes
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, architects, engineers, and school personnel
  • Proficiency with Google Office
  • Familiarity with North Carolina public school construction requirements, procurement laws, building codes, and safety regulations
