Job Summary
Commercial Electrical Project Manager for the Bay Area market. Own the full project lifecycle from mobilization through closeout, including scheduling and subcontractor coordination; manage budgets, cost-to-complete, WIP reporting, and owner pay applications; lead change orders and ensure accurate documentation (RFIs, submittals, time records). Serve as primary point of contact for owners, GCs, and stakeholders; provide technical guidance to clients and field personnel; oversee safety, quality programs, and compliance with NEC, Title 24, and contract documents. Hybrid responsibilities not indicated; role is in-office at Martinez, CA with regular travel to active project sites across Contra Costa, Alameda, and San Francisco counties. Requires union experience, credibility to represent the client with owners and general contractors, and a strong background in commercial electrical construction with demonstrated budgeting and financial oversight.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience managing commercial electrical construction projects as a Project Manager or Estimator
- Background in union electrical construction; working knowledge of CBA requirements and IBEW hiring practices
- Strong estimating skills — quantity takeoffs, change order pricing, and project pursuits
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Accubid Classic or Anywhere (or equivalent estimating software)
- Working knowledge of NEC, California Title 24, and applicable electrical codes and standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- PMP certification or equivalent
