Job Summary
Lead electrical design projects from concept through construction administration, managing deliverables, budgets, schedules, and scope for healthcare, transit, government, and commercial sectors. Prepare calculations, review drawings and specifications, and coordinate with architects, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction. Assign work to designers and technicians, interpret codes and standards, and support contract administration including shop drawing reviews and change notices. Liaise with clients and vendors, attend meetings, and manage multiple project priorities while maintaining quality control and documentation standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of electrical building services project engineering experience
- Professional engineering credentials, or senior C.E.T. designation with equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, systems, methods, and standards
- Experience coordinating major building projects with architects, consultants, contractors, and clients
- Working knowledge of relevant provincial building codes, electrical codes, CSA, ULC, IEEE, IES, and NFPA standards
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage client and team relationships effectively
- Proven leadership ability and comfort working independently
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, stakeholders, and technical priorities at the same time
Desired Qualifications
- LEED AP designation
- Experience with sustainable building design
- Experience on complex institutional, healthcare, transit, government, or large-scale commercial projects
