Project Manager, Early Education

Job Summary
Manage Early Education projects from preconstruction through final completion, leading multiple tenant improvement and renovation initiatives across childcare centers, preschools, and Montessori schools. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors while partnering with Superintendents to ensure successful field execution. Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and closeout, including reviewing plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns. Lead subcontractor bidding, contract administration, and performance management, while coordinating permitting, inspections, and utility providers. Maintain aggressive schedules within occupied facilities to minimize disruption to students and staff.
Required Qualifications
- At least seven years of commercial construction project management experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple small to midsized projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, cost control, procurement, and project financials
- Familiarity with California building codes, permitting, and inspection requirements
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within a Special Projects Group, tenant improvement division, or interiors team
- Direct experience managing Early Education projects
- Experience with childcare centers, preschools, Montessori schools, private schools, or early learning facilities
- Experience with tenant improvements, renovations, occupied spaces, and fast track schedules
- Estimating or preconstruction experience
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and client focused environment
