Job Summary
Conduct field observations to document construction progress, site conditions, and potential contract conformance issues for the Electronic Health Record Modernization Infrastructure Upgrades Program. Monitor upcoming work activities and delays, prepare daily reports, and maintain organized project documentation including inspection reports and deficiency logs. Assist with shutdown planning, punch list development, and special inspections while supporting project safety efforts. This role serves as the Owner's Representative at the Menlo Park VA Medical Center, requiring onsite construction observation and coordination within an active medical campus environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience performing construction observation, QA support, inspection, construction management, or owner's representative services on commercial, healthcare, federal, or institutional construction projects
- Familiarity with occupied renovation work, shutdown coordination, phased construction, and stakeholder coordination within active facilities
- Working knowledge of commercial construction practices, materials, means and methods, and institutional building systems
- Familiarity with low-voltage systems and telecommunications infrastructure, including structured cabling, fiber optic systems, pathways, and IDF/MDF room construction
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work professionally in active construction environments
- Ability to obtain and maintain required VA site access/badging
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in construction management, inspection, quality control, or related construction support services
