Job Summary
Manager, Customer Payments & Cash Automation leads end-to-end customer payment strategy and cash application automation within Realty Income’s Invoice-to-Cash value stream. Responsibilities include enabling customer payment methods (portal, ACH, wire), governing banking instruction processes, overseeing statements, portal payments, and dunning workflows, and designing and implementing cash application automation with remittance matching, tolerance rules, and AI/data-driven optimization. Acts as functional owner of the cash application automation domain, driving scalable, auditable solutions, and balancing automation efficiency with controls. Collaborates across Finance Operations, Technology, and Data teams; translates business requirements into specifications; supports testing/UAT and continuous improvement. Requires experience in automation design (rule-based workflows, AI/advanced matching), data analytics (SQL, Python, Power BI), ERP familiarity (Yardi preferred), and strong stakeholder management in a finance/technology environment. This is a hybrid role based in San Diego (Del Mar Heights) with in-office Mon-Thu and remote Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of experience leading projects or programs within Finance Operations, Accounting, or Cash Application
- Proven experience leading automation, system implementation, or process transformation initiatives
- Experience designing automation solutions, including rule based workflows and AI or advanced matching systems
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using tools such as SQL, Python, or Power BI
- Understanding of financial controls, audit requirements, and process accuracy
- Strong problem solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with ERP systems, Yardi preferred, and payment or banking platforms
- Familiarity with data integration, APIs, and modern automation concepts
- Real estate or multi entity environment experience preferred
