Project Manager - Customer Delivery

Job Summary

Manage customer delivery projects from contract signature through factory testing, shipment, installation, commissioning, site acceptance, and handover to operational support. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and status reporting while acting as the primary point of contact for customers. Coordinate activities across Engineering, Software, Production, Sales, and Service teams, tracking progress, risks, and dependencies to ensure smooth execution. Prepare both DTE and customers for successful implementation by aligning expectations, responsibilities, timelines, site readiness, and acceptance requirements early. Coordinate engineering deliverables, production readiness, testing, installation, training, and final handover, including managing external suppliers and subcontractors when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Icelandic work permit
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Project Management, or a related field
  • Experience coordinating technical or industrial projects, preferably involving hardware, software, installation, commissioning, or customer delivery
  • Strong technical understanding
  • Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Production, Service, customers, and external partners
  • Experience with project planning, documentation, risk tracking, and cross-functional coordination
  • Experience from aluminum, metals, recycling, manufacturing, or industrial technology
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others
  • Good analytical skills with a structured and detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to balance project details with overall goals and priorities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with customers and internal teams
  • Comfortable working with technical information and digital tools
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and compliance with applicable standards
  • Regular international travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and acceptance activities

Desired Qualifications

  • Project Management certification (PMI, IPMA, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
  • Additional languages
  • Experience with project planning, documentation, risk tracking, and cross-functional coordination
  • Experience from aluminum, metals, recycling, manufacturing, or industrial technology
  • Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage
