Job Summary
Lead creation of the comprehensive Test Plan for the bank's market system replacement project, covering the full scope including Calypso, peripheral systems, and downstream EUC tools. Engage with stakeholders across each system workstream to gather testing requirements, present drafts, and incorporate feedback through structured working sessions. Build out plan content progressively while managing document versions, review cycles, and appendices for Interface, System, and UAT phases. Track open items and manage Q&A to ensure timely resolution of complex requirements. This role supports a core banking transformation at a Japanese bank in New York, requiring proficiency in both Japanese and English.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a consultant, IT vendor, or employee of a financial institution (preferably a bank)
- Experience as a project manager or leadership role
- Experience in business transformation initiatives
- Experience in core banking system implementation or modernization
- Experience in operational efficiency improvement initiatives
- 10+ years of experience in IT consulting or system integration
- Experience in waterfall system development projects
- Hands-on involvement in test planning and test execution management
- Strong ability in consulting basics: logical thinking, structured communication, facilitation, interview, documentation, and the ability to present and explain documents to diverse audiences
- Lead and educate team members in project work as well as consulting skills
- Strong facilitation and interview skills
- Proven ability to write clear, well-structured planning documents
- Solid task and quality management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bachelor's degree
- If not located in NYC area, must be willing to travel to NYC on a monthly basis
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in large-scale system implementation or replacement projects (mid-to-large scale)
- Experience in financial institutions (banking, securities, or asset management)
- Basic understanding of market or treasury business (FX, derivatives, fixed income, etc.)
- Experience in interface design between systems (front-office ↔ accounting/settlement)
- Experience in EUC decommissioning or migration projects
- Some familiarity with application development (e.g., SQL, NET, VBA/macro development)
