Job Summary
Project Manager at a general contractor leading day-to-day management of multifamily residential projects. Responsibilities include directing contract administration, change orders, procurement, scheduling, and financial reporting; securing permits and insurance verification for subs; leading project meetings; developing and mentoring the project team; preparing monthly status reports; driving project close-out and final payment documentation; fostering owner/engineer/designer relationships; maintaining safety culture; supporting new business through proposals and presentations; active recruitment and development of talent; and exceeding stakeholder expectations through proactive issue identification and communication. Requires 4+ years of construction experience (preferably with a general contractor on large-scale projects) and an undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field; strong leadership, decision-making, and relationship-building skills; willingness to work in fast-paced environments and on active job sites; adherence to safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline, or relevant work experience
- 4+ years of construction experience required; working for a general contractor on large-scale construction projects is highly preferred
- 2+ years leading, developing, and motivating teams
- Understanding of the strategic, operational, and financial components of a construction project
- Ability to make timely and effective decisions
- Experience managing projects successfully from start to finish
- Skilled at developing and negotiating relationships with owners and trade contractors
- Strong work ethic, leadership, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Experience with wood-frame construction, specifically in multi-family and residential projects
- Experience with office-to-residential conversions, including challenges of transforming commercial spaces into multi-family living units
- Experience with the preconstruction process
- DBIA and/or LEED Accreditation
