Job Summary
Project Manager for NYC Mayor’s Office of Environmental Remediation (OER) focusing on brownfield cleanup and redevelopment programs (NYC VCP, E-Designation, Noise and Air) with responsibilities including managing project development schedules, reviewing plans and reports, ensuring environmental compliance, coordinating with development teams and public officials, and overseeing field activities and data management. The role requires fluency in OER programs (NYC VCP, E-Designation Hazmat, Noise, Air) and related initiatives (JumpStart, BIG Grants, Brownfield Partnership, Green Property Certification, SPEED mapping, EPIC database, Clean Soil Bank) and strong stakeholder communications. A bachelor’s degree in geology, engineering, earth sciences, environmental sciences, or closely related field is required; eligible candidates may progress through Assignment Levels with increased responsibilities. Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with a major in geology, engineering, earth sciences, environmental sciences, or a closely related field, including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in rock and soil mechanics; structural geology; soils; sedimentation; petrology; hydrology; hydrogeology; geomorphology; subsurface explorations; mining; engineering; mapping; surveying; site investigations; geologic field work; or closely related areas; and at least one course involving geologic field work or three months of satisfactory, full-time professional geologic field experience obtained during the course of, or after completing, the baccalaureate education.
